Defending New Zealand’s Candidacy for IMPAC6

I was commissioned by the Blue Cradle Foundation to edit a video supporting New Zealand’s candidacy to host IMPAC6. The project involved assembling footage from IMPAC5 in Vancouver, featuring members and thought leaders of the delegation. My role as editor was to craft a compelling piece that elevated the candidacy speeches and highlighted the significance of New Zealand’s bid through a profound and impactful narrative.

    The Blue Cradle Foundation tasked me with creating an inspiring video within a 24-hour window, using footage and interviews filmed at IMPAC5 in Vancouver, to showcase the New Zealand delegation and support its candidacy to host IMPAC6.

  • Editing Strategy

    After carefully reviewing all the available material and on-site footage, I focused on the key messages emerging from the interviews, shaping them to create impact and elevating them with inspirational visuals. The result is an honest, profound, and authentic pledge to ocean conservation that highlights and values the contribution of the New Zealand delegation.

  • Distribution

    Freshly completed, the video was unveiled at the close of IMPAC5, securing New Zealand a second-place finish and positioning the country as a strong contender to host IMPAC7.
